The Knell of Parting Day

Pleasant Surprises

Last night I took a razor to my hair and spent an hour patiently attending to the mess it had become. Being successful in that, my hair now sits properly on my head and behaves itself.

In the afternoon I took a walk to Bank Street in order to run some errands. On the way back I encountered my English professor traveling the opposite way and the ensuing conversation was a bright one. We talked about our reasons for being outside before saying goodbye until Monday. I am certain that she was as surprised as I was by the chance encounter. It was a pleasant surprise.

At present I am sitting with a bottle of Valerian capsules in front of me wondering how effective they will be in the pursuit of sleep.
